Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ilir Meta, was received by the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, in Baku. [ 20 October, 2014 ] Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ilir Meta stated that Azerbaijan represents an important partner for Albania and in this regard "assessing the friendly relations between both peoples we aim to strength our political and economic relations.” ... Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Ilir Meta was received by the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ogtay Asadov [ 20 October, 2014 ] The Speaker of Parliament, Mr. Meta and the Speaker of the Parliament of Azerbaijan discussed on the concretization of bilateral projects and the increase of economic and trade exchanges by emphasizing the importance of Azeri expertise in oil and gas industry, training of Albanian specialists, investments in tourism sector and the cooperation on agro-processing sector, where Albania offers great potentials.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Grenada, a letter to the Albanian Speaker: "Soon an immediate increase of the countries that will recognize the independence of Kosovo"

 

The Speaker of the Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, received a letter from the Speaker of the Parliament of Grenada, George J.Mc Guire regarding the independence of Kosovo.

This letter comes after many meetings the Speaker of Parliament had in the World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva, mainly focused on the lobbing for the recognition of the independence of Kosovo.

In his letter Mr. Mc Guire writes: I am satisfied of announcing that after the meeting we had in the World Conference of Geneva, Grenada took into consideration your request for recognizing Kosovo as a legitimate country and totally independent.

I had the pleasure to inform you that the CARICOM countries are expected to take a common decision regarding the issue of Kosovo.”

CARICOM is a union of states including 15 countries, Antigua, Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Dominica, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and Grenadines, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago.

In his letter, the Speaker of the Parliament of Grenada ensured the Speaker of the Parliament that “the highest personalities of Grenada will further lobby in support of your right cause.”

The letter of Mr. MC Guire, comes after a number of letters the Speaker of the Parliament, Jozefina Topalli, received in response of her meetings lobbing on the recognition of the independence of Kosovo.
